「We thought from Expedia's website that we were getting self catering, with living room/kitchen as well as the bedroom and bathroom, but we got bedroom and bathroom only. Not the owner's fault, but Expedia. Accommodation was okay, but we have stayed in better for similar/lower price. General area was nice.」

「The property itself was perfect. A lovely little cabin with all needed for a quiet stay. The main issue for us on an admittedly short stay, were the distance from Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay. There were no grocery shops within a walkable distance or short drive. 」

Despite this, it was very quiet inside with no external noise. The view is of rooftops with a sliver of sea. The abbey is visible on the other side of the river. 「Cottage was very cosy and had everything we needed for our stay. Had some lovely little touches (look out for the carved mice!) and was in a great location. Walks to Whitby and Scarborough along the cinder track just 5 mins from the door. Good wifi, good sized TV and unlike many holiday 'cottages' this one actually looked like a cottage. Quaint and full of character.」
