「Beautiful, cosy cottage with everything needed for lovely holiday. Location was excellent with easy access to walking routes to Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Ravenscar. Would come again.」

Our room was disgusting in the bathroom there was glue ? ( not sure what is was ) on the bottom of two rows of tiles dirt stuck to it .chopped paint every where needed painting . 「We loved our stay here. They are in the middle of renovations and we paid for a cheaper room that hadn't been renovated fully yet. We were a little worried it would be grotty or quite dated since the pictures on the website for those rooms weren't great, but the rooms were actually pretty nice. The hotel is beautiful and the grounds are amazing with breathtaking views. The restaurant is great. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Also it's lovely to see all the birds about the property...

「It had a nice lounge area. The main bedroom is a little on the small size with not much room to get round the double bed and the bedding smelt musty. One bathroom for 3 bedrooms? Overall ok but probably would not stay again.」

The kids were probably about 10-13 years old and were terribly loud, running up and down the stairs, screaming and yelling in the hallways and the teachers didn’t do anything about it. 「For context. Stayed here after a Paul Weller concert. The hotel decided the appropriate price for a small double room the night should be £259.01 (excluding breakfast). I get that they were maximising their opportunity but....at best this is a £100-£125 per night hotel. Don't know when the stair wells, corridors and bedrooms were last decorated ( 20 years ago?) - probably the same time as the stair carpets were properly cleaned to remove stains. 「We had a lovely room on the 3rd floor but it was very hot as a result of the recent high temperatures. This made sleep difficult until the early hours of the morning when the weather cooled. All the staff we encountered were great - very helpful, pleasant and cheerful. Breakfast was standard but absolutely no complaints. It is a very old property but some way of keeping the upper rooms cooler in high summer temperatures would be a major improvement.. perhaps by increasing the roof insulation」
