"The Cheshire is an interesting experience. It is definitely one-of-a-kind. The problem is that the rooms are outdated. The a/c in my room was very loud. The ceiling tiles were dirty. The walls are very thin and I could hear everything the neighbor was saying. The pool is nice but is loud if your room faces it. Parking is convenience. Breakfast is average hotel continental breakfast - nothing special. The pub is cool. The place needs a refresh and an update, which can be accomplished while maintaining its cool medieval throwback vibe."

"A hidden gem in the Forest Park area of St. Louis. Had no idea it was there. Close to zoo, art museum, the U.City Loop and other attractions. Easy Metro ride to see a Cards game if you catch the U.City Loop train. Great small pub just off the lobby with excellent fish n' chips, toasted ravioli and a delicious and hearty breakfast buffet that is way better than a typical chain hotel. You have to pay a bit for it, but it's worth it. Highly recommend."

"The shower was almost non-existent, barely trickled out of the faucet no matter the adjustable head, which made it very difficult to get a shower. The bed was extremely firm, so if you have any back issues at all you may want to think twice about staying here. Also, it was the weekend and there was no cleaning service in the rooms or restocking towels, etc. The plus to the hotel was the staff! They were super friendly!"

"I have stayed at this property multiple times and the entire staff during a recent visit were not interested in doing anything more than the bare minimum. We couldn't get one of our rooms cleaned the entire stay despite repeated requests. Valet attendants were difficult to communicate with and self parking options were non-existant. Front desk personnel were unfriendly and mostly interested in telling us what they couldn't do for us vs. responding to questions/requests. Street level outdoor seating area was often fully occupied by local youth who were not staying at the property. Overall, we felt like a burden to the Marriott staff working during our stay. It's a beautiful property in a great location, shame that it's being run this way."
