"Pleasant staff. Lovely lobby with delicious desserts. Beds were a bit hard for my liking but that is a personal preference; our friends liked them. Small rooms but typical. Had nice shower. Town is not as tourist friendly as other areas so plan ahead for meals; many places don’t seat foreigners unless you are invited. We are convenience store foods. The American Burger restaurant seated us at lunch though. The castle is amazing and the mountains are spectacular."

"Well located and we had everything we needed to explore for a short stay. Stayed as a family for a couple of nights. Great location for dining and explore Matsumoto. Close to the train station for a day trip to Kamikochi. "

"Convenient for public transport and the castle was within walking distance. Unfortunately i was given a smoking room which stank like an old ashtray. The room was heavily nicotine stained and even after using freshner it still smelt.the Free breakfast was limited in choice and not topped up, so first in best selection. The staff are friendly and helpful and i will stay here again but i will specify a non smking room."

"Located on the sixth floor of a building above a large bookstore, this is basically a capsule hotel -- but it also has some larger "normal" rooms, which are pretty typical for a Japanese business hotel. (We happened to get the smallest of these, the one room that had a big support pillar running through it, but the rest of the rooms are if anything on the large size for a business hotel.)
