Seattle Children's Hospital Tours

This is my go to for stays in Seattle. The rooms are always clean and comfortable, the staff is always friendly and helpful. This time I stayed with my adult disabled son. He is Deaf/Blind and we often use a wheelchair for walking any distance. Through some error, we did not have a functioning wheelchair and was able to borrow one from the hotel we were allowed to use it throughout our stay, and they even kept my son’s nonfunctioning chair in the storage room. The one thing I was surprised about, however, was that I was never asked if I could use any help. It doesn’t seem that they have anyone in a position to do bellhop duties. I was able to manage pushing a wheelchair and pulling my suitcase by putting my backpack over the armrest in the back of the chair as well as my purse, and having my son hold another bag on his lap. It was awkward at times, but it was doable. I’m sure staff would have helped if I had asked, but it just seems odd to me that with the high level of customer skills that the hotel staff has, they would see a possible need for help and not offer a solution. However, I would advise anyone who may need a temporary wheelchair not to rely on the fact that they do loan them out. They only have two chairs, and the best one is missing a leg rest.

The beds are very comfortable and the staff is very helpful and friendly.

We had an excellent experience at Coast Gateway SeaTac. Very friendly, helpful staff, meticulously clean room that was absolutely quiet (we were on the back side of the building, facing the airport). Enjoyed a great prime rib at the restaurant across the parking lot (pricey, but probably the best prime rib that I’ve ever had!). Great transportation to/from SeaTac.
