"Staying at Ten-Yu was one of the highlights of my trip. The surroundings are beautiful and it feels very secluded but still simple to get to the main areas of hakone to explore. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. The onsens are beautiful and felt like a well deserved treat. Free sparkling wine in the evening was an added bonus (along with free ice creams!). One night was not enough, I really hope to stay again. "

"Truly a fantastic experience. From the moment we got there we were given nothing but the highest level of service. All of the staff were very attendant, welcoming, and very apt in speaking English (though we did our best to speak in Japanese). We had the same hostess taking care of us through check-in, all of our meals, check-out, and even guiding us to our next destination; the dedication and personalization of such an experience was truly heartfelt and I wish we could thank her again. Speaking of the meals, they were also top-of-the-line full course experiences that gave you no room for wanting more: both delicious and filling. To top it off, the room we stayed in was immaculate and nailed the traditional feel you would want from a ryokan, accompanied with an awe-inspiring view from our outdoor onsen. All-in-all, it was a fantastic experience that I would recommend to anyone visiting Hakone."

"We had a great experience at this ryokan! They picked us up from the train station and upon arrival at the hotel, a staff member discussed the amenities, use of the onsen and will answer any questions. The ryokan has a small outdoor onsen. Traditional Japanese breakfast and 12 course dinner are included in the room rate. Overall a wonderful stay."

"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! It was raining when we arrived and we were able to check in early. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and a decent size. The breakfast was excellent. Best of all were the indoor and outdoor onsens, with views of Mt. Fuji.Its located next to the train station and lots of dining options. I highly recommend this hotel."
