"The Villa was new and up scale and roomy. It was super clean and great instruction on how to deal with the needs for our 2 days stay. The bedrooms was good size with comfortable Queens size bed and not those twin size. The beds were great and firm enough you know they weren't cheap material. The amenities were great with the sauna room was clean and equipped with sauna towel along with the private hot tub in the unit and no need to share. The balcony was great for BBQ with family and friends....

"Superbe emplacement au bord du lac Ashi, avec une vue absolument magnifique. La chambre avec vue sur le lac est un vrai coup de cœur, un petit plus qui rend le séjour encore plus magique."

"Booked only for one night. Wished we would have booked for another stay. Beautiful property. Utilize the free shuttle available from the train station to the hotel. Don’t attempt to walk especially if carrying luggage as there are steep hills. You will be asked to remove your shoes before entering hotel so make sure you have decent socks on as this is a shoeless property."

"This was the most pleasant and luxurious stay that I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. From the moment you walk onto the property to the moment you check-out, the staff are there to help you with luggage, check-in, settling in, and planning your days both on the property and to see the surrounding area. This property is located in the gorgeous mountains of Hakone an offers the most gorgeous views of the mountains right from the room and balconies where you can bathe in your private onsen. Also included in your stay are traditional breakfast and dinner which on their own are worth the price. This experience is nothing short of amazing and I would recommend anyone travelling to Japan to experience at least one night here."

"Loved this place. It had all the amenities you could ask for and it was super clean. We really enjoyed the hot spring foot bath on the porch. Only issue I had was that our tour we were on before reaching here finished early, so we got to the property 2 hours before check in time. You couldn't access the common area to wait for check in nor were there any benches outside, so we ended up sitting on the ground under the hot sun - would have been nice if they had had a small shaded area with bench outside that we could have waited in."

"Very nice unit and big enough for two families with two separate bathrooms. The checkin process was a bit frustrating as the connection kept getting a busy signal and everyone had to be present and on screen to be verified. This was after we submitted all our passport details to the host. Very beautiful and scenic view of the lake, shrine and Mr Fuji."

"The hotel is lovely, the view of the river is very soothing. The welcome drinks are a really nice touch, service is excellent, breakfast was great, with very tasty Japanese and Western options. The shared onsen also was very nice. There really are only two issues with the hotel. First, the amenities were sparse. Lots for an American or European place, but by Japanese standards, still a bit short. No brush or comb, and nice robes but no pyjamas. On request, they’ll give you those, but the pyjamas are more thick sweatshirt and sweatpants than what I got at every other, even cheaper, Japanese hotel I ever have stayed in. Second, the location is not great. The town of Gora is small, doesn’t have much of anything to do, and the few food places are way overpriced, unlike most in Japan. Summary: if you’re there for the hotel and onsen and service and breakfast, it is a great place. Accept you won’t have good pyjamas, and that there’s not much to do right there. If you’re heading further towards Lake Ashi and you’re ok with it, then you’ll enjoy."

"I was wowed. To be honest, pictures don’t do this justice. It’s a place you can get lost in- in the most beautiful way possible. It is the most scenic stay I’ve experienced to date. It inspires poetry and deep thought. It was my brilliant oasis. Thank you! My only qualms were the food- it was bit underwhelming for the price point; however, the dining view, opulence and careful care from staff made up for it a bit."
