"This is my favorite hotel I’ve ever stayed at! At check in everything was explained to me, how to get to my room, dinning, how to use the communal bath, etc. the kind lady who checked me in spoke fluent English which made things very easy! My room was clean and there are many good tourist spots nearby within walking distance!! I can’t wait to stay here again!!!!!!!"

"Lovely traditional ryokan hidden in the mountains. We requested for the morning bus shuttle at JR Hanazono station so that we can explore the serene surroundings prior check in. Ryokan is charming, very clean and well maintained. The Arashiyama Bamboo forest is just a few stops from Hanazono station, so do include that in your itinerary."

"The location and surroundings of this ryokan was perfect after a week of hustle and bustle of Tokyo. The staff was very kind and nice. The food was magnificent in its presentation and taste. The creek on the property was so peaceful and beautiful. Hiking to the various temples was a great fun activity to do as well. Great place to stay away from the hectic town center. "

"We loved it! What a great hotel - staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Breakfast included in the restaurant downstairs was excellent, loved the gourmet waffles! And the room .. wow. It was very spacious and the layout and decor were beautifully minimalist. Also had sliding glass doors that opened onto a balcony. We also enjoyed the rooftop patio with couches, tent and great views. Very convenient to walk to from station and as easy walk to bridge/river. I would gladly stay here again … absolutely loved it!!"

"I absolutely loved this ryokan. The pictures online do not do it justice; the property is even better in person. The staff were very welcoming. The meals were amazing. The property was bigger than I thought it would be. The setting was peaceful. It was exactly what I was looking for. My only recommendation is that the shuttle from the train station should have a sign with the name of the property. "

"This was our first stay at a rhyokan (spelling!)and we were blown away by the beauty, The comfort (personally I felt sleeping on tatami mats on a futon perfect). The attentive service was welcoming and spot on. We ate breakfast and dinner here and the local food was abundant, gorgeously presented and flavorful. We had a room with a private Onsen on a deck. Highly recommend. This was a unique, peak experience and I am a seasoned traveler. Do it. "
