「The hotel was ideal for my first night on the Ridgeway Long distance path being less than a mile off route. The room was a good size with everything I would expect. I had dinner and breakfast there, both of which were fantastic. The owner was helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely stay there again and definitely recommend it.」

「The staff was very friendly but I have to admit the internet even at times when I could connect was so weak, I couldn’t even access my emails. The shower has a power saver machine on it but the problem is the hot water cycles from cold to warm to scalding and around and around so you constantly have to dip under and out. I can’t say the stay was worth the price.」

「There is parking behind the waitrose and staff walked us there after their shift had ended to ensure we understood the parking App since tomorrow is the Farmers Market on High Street and we would have to move the vehicle early. Now it’s all sorted and paid in advance. Of course it’s an older hotel and everything is crooked and settled, but you should come here for that eclectic experience, as we did. I just miss the old mural that was painted in the pub before, replaced by a more modern map. 」
