This ryokan had just opened when we were lucky enough to stay here. The rooms were bright, and beautifully appointed, with touches of Kyoto--a view of the garden, traditionally shaped lamp and personal bath. But the amenities were modern and thoughtful --powerful hairdryer, coffee in room and thick futon mattresses. An unforgettable traditional ryokan experience! Amazing location, extremely quiet, ultra relaxing, environment to completely unwind. The staff is incredible, the food is delectable, and the tea ceremony (do not skip) is a magical and unforgettable experience. You’re sleeping on a futon on tatami floors in a 157 year old building in historic Kyoto, just as they’ve done for 1,200 years. A wonderful way to spend a night or two during your visit!

The room was beautiful, clean and staff were efficient and gracious.

This was my second stay in one year and I chose it because of its proximity to The Philosophers Walk as well as being located in a residential community, though quite close to a major temple as well as quieter and lovely ones. There are only 4 rooms; this is a typical lodging house - shared bath and kitchen. Proprietor Nakamoto is very helpful !!!

The place was tasteful and had everything I needed. In particular there was a microwave oven in the room which I really appreciated. The hosts were super-nice. One the best places I have stayed in Japan over the past 30 years

An amazing hotel in an amazing location! My only regret is I wish we stayed longer. It’s like an air b&b … absolutely exception!

We loved our time here! The room was actually pretty spacious compared to other hotels on our Japan trip around the same price point. It was nice to have a little kitchenette for tea and heating up food as well. Close by to A LOT of great food, activities and a park. It’s also a short walk from Kyoto station. The Resy team was very quick to communicate and give us anything we needed when we asked for it :) Would stay here again!

Beautiful and cozy place. The staff were all so kind. Nearby, there are restaurants and the Yasaka Shrine. Me and my partner had a wonderful experience staying here for our Honeymoon! Thank you all again!

Excellent location under a 10 minute walk to Shijo station and Nishiki market is steps out your front door. Lots of restaurants and plenty of room for a family of four. The check-in process is the only odd part but it’s not that difficult to navigate if you arrive at Kyoto Station and it’s easy to catch the subway to Shijo station and walk to the property. Excellent property. We would stay there again. FYI…. The first floor rooms have opaque windows so you have no view. It wasn’t a deal killer...

Terrific room and the neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. Very near Kiyomizu-dera and the crowded streets of Ninnenzaka, Sannenzaka and Nene-no-michi.

We had a great stay at Luck You. The staff was extremely helpful and nice, always offering tea and welcoming with a huge smile. The design is lovely and the "breakfast" area is pleasant and peaceful.

Great service and excellent customer support staff are all very helpful and easily to communicate English speaking and knowledgeable about the area will give you tips on how to avoid crowds and have a great time doing your tours in the area

This small hotel is really cute. The rooms are clean, equipped and super nice! The staff was really helpful and polite. They have breakfast and they have 2 light meals during the day which were good and perfect for what they are. Really happy with the property and the experience. I loved the bathtub with view on the interior garden.
