We've been to the Big Island several times and have stayed at the Kona Reef all but on 2 trips. 2 years ago pipes ended busting in several units and although they ended up having to upgrade us to another condo that was a bit of a challenge with management as he was making it our responsibility to find else where to stay. Still giving them the benefit of a doubt we booked again this year and the condo we got was very outdated and rundown, stained fabric diningroom chairs, large rust spots on side of the refrigerator, found hair and sand on sheets, smelly place and very noisy. Not a pleasant or comfortable feeling place to stay. It's obvious they are doing the the minimal to keep up with maintenance for what they are charging. We love the Big Island and use to enjoy staying at the Kona Reef, but after our experience these past couple trips, we decided it was our last time that we'll be staying there. It's unfortunate that they are letting the place to go downhill. We brought it all to their attention, but they had the attitude that they didn't care.
