"It was beautiful and well kept, but one thing I would stress is that it's not really a "family" venue. The pools rules are very strictly enforced, and security is quick to get in your face simply for allowing your kid in the hot tub (while it was empty of adults). While I understand they were just doing they're job; the manner in which they approached us, and others we witnessed trying to do the same with their kids, was ALL wrong. The rest of the staff was so helpful & welcoming; but this definitely left a bit of bad taste."

"Second stay here in two years. Still rated good; not the excellent review before. Property still has the comfortable, relaxing curb appeal. Same location less than a mile uphill from downtown Grass Valley. Front desk reception is quality and freindly as before. Room was clean annd quiet.. Three strikes are: 1) Outer lid of smoke detector was missing showing the roof insertion. 2) Tile in bathroom vanity was missing below sink, exposing wood across length. 3) Hotel has dropped broadcast TV channels. This is helpful for a traveler wishing to see local news and weather. Hotel provided mostly movies thru Netflix and several other apps."

"There was ample parking for all guests. The room was clean and well maintained. The complimentary breakfast was okay. I felt bad for the worker who was replenishing the items because a family was bagging up items like they just went grocery shopping. It was ridiculous and someone from management should have spoken to them. They were abusing the “free breakfast” and ruining it for all the other guests."
