The Good: The inside of the cottage was clean. The bathroom was roomy. The beds and furniture were comfortable. We loved the Adirondack rocking bench at the end of the dock. We had coffee there every morning. Very peaceful. The canoe was also nice to have. There was very little boat traffic in the area, so it was very quiet.
Some suggestions: Towel racks in the bathroom, a salad bowl, beach towels, Plastic cups (The rules stated that no glass containers are allowed near the water, but there are no plastic cups.) Clean flotation tube and mattress. (The flotation tube and mattress were stored with the canoe and were covered in dirt and mold.) A cork screw that works.
The Bad: We tried to go for a swim, however the grass was so thick in the 3 feet of water that one could not swim. My arms would literally become entangled in the weeds, whick extended from the bottom of the lake to the water's surface. The water is so shallow that I had to wade out to about 100 feet from shore before I was able to swim freely. The canoe allowed us to paddle out to the local public beach. During our paddle we noted that no other cottage had a significant weed problem. The manager said there was nothing that one could do about it and that it was a microclimate issue. However, a neighbor said that the grass simply needs to be physically romoved.
The tables and chairs by the bungalo need cleaning, and the picnic table needs leveling. Bees are entering a hive via a hole on the side of house.
