My only complain might be that they didn’t check my id card when I said I lost my room key before they gave me a new one but obviously that was more convenient for me. 」

I took a chance and booked us a location that was off the touristy spot where all the big hotels were - so glad I did - VUE is a hidden gem. We took to walking around the Hutong neighborhoods right away, my father loved his morning walks in Houhai Park which was right behind the hotel. The service has improved in many ways compared to previous reviews. Many of the front desk staff were able to communicate in English, and those who could not speak English well tried to communicate using a translation app on their smartphones.
The room was spacious enough to work in, but the facilities left some room for improvement: the electrical outlets were hard to use, and the shower water tended to spill outside the shower room."
