"The place is a rental property rather than a hotel. The host Carla was very friendly and responsive. The view was amazing. However, the property could use some serious work. There were holes on the wall, stains on the couch, splashes on the kitchen window shades, mold or stains on bathroom ceiling. The bathroom sink doesn’t work. Walls are paper thin that you can hear everything from the next door neighbor. The bedroom AC doesn’t work properly, that it doesn’t cool and was very noisy. The...

"Very nice and well maintained apartment with great location to down town Jaco. My family enjoyed spacious apartment and the pool. The only fault we could find was the crockery and cutlery needs upgrading. We would stay here again."

"Oh my gosh, this place is absolutely breathtaking! Sitting under the covered patio during the afternoon showers was so relaxing. We saw over 40 species of birds on the property. The property is situated so you can see all the macaws flying over the water to roost each night. We absolutely loved this spot!"
"Our flight was diverted due to weather, causing a 5 hour delay so we were not actually able to stay overnight but staff kindly let us hang out in the morning and enjoy our breakfast. The breakfast was super tasty and filling. Two scarlet macaws ate bananas at the feeders while we had our breakfast. Such a cool experience!"

"If “too good to be true” were a place, it would be Casa Tucan. This home is everything the pictures show and so much more. Honestly, photos—or even my words—will never do it justice. You simply have to experience it for yourself. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed and cared for. We felt absolutely safe the entire time on our girls’ trip. Edgar was incredibly attentive, communicative, and made sure every detail was coordinated seamlessly. Jose, the chef, prepared the most amazing meals and even handled provisioning ahead of time, so all we had to do was arrive and be in awe of that breathtaking view. The home itself is spacious, clean, and comfortable. We slept wonderfully. Yes, you’ll have some friendly little bugs and even the occasional frog at night—it’s Costa Rica after all—but they were never a nuisance, just part of the charm. The experience left us changed in the best way. We can’t thank the hosts enough for sharing such a beautiful place, truly a retreat on top of the world. Casa Tucan is a blessing, and we will absolutely be back."
"The birding on the property was great, especially walking the road away from the highway (Scarlet Macaws and Howler Monkeys when we arrived!). The tower provided wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. Abram was a great host who prepared delicious meals for breakfast and dinner. I found the mattresses to be a bit too firm, but our kids slept like rocks. There were a couple of minor maintenance issues, like a bathroom door that didn't fully close. But all in all I would stay there again happily!"
"We were 5 couples in 5 rooms. Rooms were clean, and the building was nicely done. The building was cleverly isolated from the lively street and neighborhood. "
"Have stayed here before several times and they have done and are continuing to do a lot of improvements. The entire staff from checking in , kitchen and wsit staff, grounds crew have all been very friendly and efficient. The grounds crew does a fantastic job of keeping the jungle and it's critters from literally taking over. There is a lot of wildlife to be seen just walking around and exploring the grounds. The food and beverages have all been very good. I'm staying in 1 of the 2 Tree House rooms and would higjly recommend choosing these rooms. Their balcony"s literally look over the Tarcolito stream and the jungle across the stream is alive with squaking Parrots and Macaws. Truly one of my favorite spots in Costa Rica."
"Beautiful setting and views. Lots of birds and macaws showed up in the trees and flyovers. Bare bones kitchen but only stayed one nite. Room comfortable but could use update. Nice to have AC. Dining options a short drive away. Pool was refreshing"
