You wouldn't know it while sitting in the backyard oasis, but this wonderful property is close to breweries, wineries and distilleries, and only a short drive to downtown Austin.
The backyard is definitely the highlight, coming in at two acres. There is corn available to feed the deer, who know the sound and will come out if you follow the instructions left by the host. Weather didn't allow us to use the pool, but it looked inviting had it not been raining the whole trip. The pool house, complete with a shower and water closet was a nice addition.
The inside of the house was as clean as you could ask for! The appliances all seemed brand new, and there was plenty of spices and condiments available for use. Pots, pans, coffee pot, and almost anything else you would need to prepare a meal was there to use.
The host Pennie was a pleasure to deal with. She called the day before to make sure we had no questions and offer suggestions on things to do in the area.
As one of the bartenders told us during our visit, the town has been nicknamed "Drinking Springs" due to the abundance of watering holes in the area. It was nice to have such a great property to return to after seeing the highlights of the area.
