Hakone Suisen provided the best service I expected. The staff were really kind and friendly, the facility was clean and nice, onsen(both inside and outside) were great, and they even provided simple breakfast! Onsen is not big as normally depicted in Japanese media(movie/drama) but the water source is outstanding. Unfortunately, it is difficult to access other restaurants/cafe from the location by public transport, so I HIGHLY recommend you to enjoy your dinner at somewhere else before...

We had a long travel day the day prior so having our own private onsen to relax in along with the traditional meals was a lovely way to start our tour of this beautiful country.

Staffs spoke fluent English and are super communicative. Overall great experience, scenery of the onsen is amazing. Just want to highlight though, when we used the shuttle bus to arrive at the Gora Station, bus driver didn’t really help to carry the luggages down which is fine, just feels a bit weird to see the contrast before and after leaving the hotel. Overall, hospitality 9.5/10.

I love the hotel. Tsukino is an interesting and successful synthesis of traditional ryokan atmosphere with modern facilities. While my room comes with TV, fridge, western-style couch, a king sized bed, and a modern bathroom, the rest of the decoration is Japanese in style. The room also comes with a tube in the balcony. Hakone Airu was a wonderful stay that will form part of our unforgettable trip to Japan. At first, I was hesitant to book this hotel because of the limited number of reviews. Susukinohara Ichinoyu was a lovely treat for us! Hakone was so different from the frenetic energy in Tokyo. There were many other resorts in the area, but were unable to accommodate our group of 17. We stayed here with our four-year-old and had a wonderful time. They provided child robes and meals and everyone was so kind. Free coffee and tea downstairs and amazing baths in the rooms! Would definitely return.

My friends and I stayed here for one night during what was supposed to be the peak time for Sakura in Lake Yamanakako. This place did not disappoint despite the Sakura being shy. The view from our room And the rooftop was incredible, the owners and workers were also incredibly kind and attentive. Overall we felt so grateful for our experience.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. We had a disastrous experience with another Hakone hotel (see my other review).
