"Lovely stay at Yufuin. There is a free pick-up and drop-off options available from JR Yufuin Station which is a must unless you want to walk up crazy hills to get to the property. The room we stayed had traditional tatami mats and plenty of space to lounge around before enjoying hot springs. This property allowed us to book a private bath free of charge, and also the public bath that is open til late which was convenient. There is also free Japanese kimono that you can wear during your stay....

"The whole dining experience is one that we will never forget. The menu was well planned, with mostly local and seasonal ingredients. The presentation of each dish was a feast to the eyes. The taste was absolutely divine!!! A big shout out to our hostess Kido San 城戶千津子. She took care of me and my wife during our stay. Always courteous and efficient in what she did. Her rare elegance enhances our experience. She saw us off until we disappeared from her sight, in a down pour. These cultural moments...

"Excellent ryokan with super friendly staff, we really enjoyed our stay. The cats are cute and well taken care of, the baths are great and the room is pleasant. There is one caveat that needs to be mentioned: This is a cat-*themed* ryokan centered around the cats in the cat cafe that it hosts. The cafe is located inside the ryokan but acts as a separate entity and requires separate payment onsite. Very recommended for cat lovers! :3"

Property offers pick-up and sending service from near bus station or train station but you will need to call to the property and make a booking (or just call them when you arrive). "Clean and very big room, well designed. We love the nice and serene landscape while walking along the walkway from the room to the restaurant. We have booked with half board, the sumptuous dinner might have been well enjoyed by some but the amount were too much for us to stomach. On the last night, I received an alert on earthquake from my phone and felt a slight tremor. Unsure what to do, we went down to lobby to enquire but the only staff manning was unable to speak English and I had to...

"Very clean and very comfortable. They are very vague about you putting everything back. Does it mean you have to wash all of your dishes and put them back exactly? Communication was lacking. Of the two emails I sent, I never got a response. I left some stuff there and asked if it was found and they decided not to answer me. I ended up leaving it there so I suppose someone else is not enjoying it."
