「It is a lovely, stately old mansion just like you expect of Galveston. Built in the 1860’s and recently renovated over a three year period. It is located only about four blocks from the cruise terminal and is ideal if you are cruising. The owner is a great guy and has other property nearby that includes a parking lot. If you stay at the manor you can park your car in the lot and he will drive you to the terminal. Talk about service.
There is a live in chef onsite and he prepares your breakfast...

「My wife and I had a great time at the Steamboat. Location to local destinations was excellent. We enjoyed a brief rain storm from the front porch swing that was simply magical. The owners were very friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast was 5 star! We will absolutely return.」

「Our stay at Hoffman Haus was just OK. The breakfast were excellent, and the staff was very accommodating, especially when they provided breakfast early for our departure. However, the property did not quite make our expectations based on the photos and reviews. The accommodations felt more rustic than anticipated and after rain, the gravel parking areas were very muddy, making it difficult to keep the room clean. The room also lacks some practical touches such as floor mats, rugs and bathroom...

「Joseph was the star of the place! He made the most delicious breakfast!
The place is lovely, it just needs some deep cleaning. The carpet in our room was old and the outside of the bath tub was quite dirty. The light switches in the bedroom and bathroom need some cleaning. Over all it was a pleasant stay.」
