I would only visit to see an opera or show. Otherwise pretty lame. Architecture is impressive but not worth a trip for that alone

An excellent place to spend the day with amazing views of Athens and a great little restaurant for lunch. A very nice museum shop as well. We purchased ceramics and bags there.
