"The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is in a lovely old house in the old part of Athens. The room was clean and comfortable and spacious. There was a small balcony with table and chairs overlooking a square. We expected it may be noisy because Plaka is such a busy area, but were pleasantly surprised that it quieted down soon after 10 pm."

"I only encountered 4 different members of staff here but all of them were so friendly, helpful and very genuine. The hotel itself, the location is it's main strength, you couldn't get a better location. Our room, it was spotlessly clean, very large, very comfortable and so many little additional things, such as robes, slippers, eye masks, all the toiletries you can imagine. "

"Perfect! All of the staff were very kind, helpful, and very knowledgeable of the area! The room was perfect, and the beds and pillows were very comfortable! The location was absolutely amazing!! We were literally a 5 minute walk from the Acropolis and all of the incredible ruins! We were also about a 5 minute walk from a pharmacy, shopping, restaurants and the best white hot chocolate you will ever have! 5 minutes in the other direction are the shops in Plaka and approximately a 10 minute walk from the Plaka stairs where you will find so many restaurants to choose from! Ruins are to be found all around. This is definitely the place to stay! "

"The perfect location for exploring this wonderful city - Plaka is central to everything and we used the metro and trams and occasional taxis when necessary. Bear in mind the street is pedestrianised so be prepared to lug your cases a little way plus there is no lift in the hotel. The area is entirely safe - we wandered around a lot, even late at night, and never felt uncomfortable. The team at the property were incredibly helpful with recommendations for everything from where to eat to chartering a boat and made us feel extremely welcome throughout. The rooms are huge which was ideal for a 7 night stay and the only noise from reception in the mornings as our room was very close so not an issue for the floor above. A few recommendations to improve things further would be to ditch the shower curtains, have a plug on the sinks and replace the cracked toilet seat. It would have been perfect if there had been a small balcony to sit out in the evenings but I guess that is not easy to change and in February, not a problem for us. All in all, I'd highly recommend this property and Athens is a superb city if you like your history, great food and lovely people!"

"Room was lovely - had everything I needed apart from a pen which staff were always - always kind enough to help with anything. I didn't mind the view from the room. The only two things that concerned me was the insidd bathroom door frame floor lip of the bathroom that I jabbed my toe on once - if they use a rubber seal/bevel, it would soften the blow for future people staying. And the only other thing was the main room door handle seemed loose or broken, but however the locking mechanism worked perfectly, and felt safe after testing. Overall, I wish I could have checked in a little earlier and stayed a little longer if more days were available. I can see why it is a populae hotel and ideal place to start exploring Athens. It could almost be a 4 star hotel, felt comfortable, beds were ideal after a long day of exploring history across the city. Compared to my current stay now, The Plaka Hotel was spacious, and allowed comfort, closeness, and connection in essentially the heart of Athens. Worth it. Thank you making this stay pleasant and highly recommendable. That map you gave at reception, a true life saver. I would be lost without the Plaka Hotel's guidence. Πολύ καλό Σας ευχαριστώ "
