The Northshore Hotel - Boston/Danvers

"Staying here is not recommended. Our experience was not good. Here is why: ROOM - The room (225) appeared clean but was not as clean one would expect. - The table was very poorly assembled which caused it to wobble excessively. - There was no room service at all. If we needed toiletries, towels, wash cloths, etc., we had to go to the office to get them ourselves. Our soiled bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths, sheets, and blankets were never removed and replaced. We stayed there for 5 days and not once did anyone come in to clean the room. - The toilet base was cracked and poorly repaired. - The sink stopper lever was very difficult to operate and did not keep water from draining. - There were no hooks in the bathroom on which you could hang towels and such. - No ability to hang clothing bags. No closet. PROPERTY - Renovation materials were being stored outside in the parking lot and in guest passage ways. - There is no swimming pool. - It appears that the bare minimum is done to meet codes and keep the place operational. WE WILL NOT STAY HERE AGAIN!!!"

"No amenities in the room like every other hotel we go to has. Apparently a dog friendly hotel. Dogs were barking until 2AM! When my son went to complain the person on duty acted as if they didn’t speak English. A police officer who was for whatever reason in the lobby - was as stunned as my son was. Was also saying he could hear the dogs. They did nothing. We booked the hotel for the pool because my 7 y/o grandson was with us. Pool didn’t work the entire time we were there for the week."

"Room was clean, bathroom clean. Staff was helpful when hot water didn’t come on, unfortunately it still kept doing it and had to run it for a few minutes before it was warm enough. Beds are old spring mattresses but still comfortable, the sheets are nice. I slept well. The room was pretty clean, stains on one of the towels, wallpaper is peeling, but fridge worked. Was able to park in front of the room, which was helpful. Area is safe."
