Holland House Hotel Cardiff By Sunday

10/10 Excellent

"Check in was quick and efficient and when we were given the wrong bed they moved us easily. Our room was spacious with a separate seating area. A massive bath with separate shower. The 2 windows gave us spectacular views. It was an easy walk to the Principality Stadium, straight through the town centre. Only issue was the breakfast hot table was broken so food was only warm. We were not told about this problem until I asked if they realised the food wasn't hot. Apparently the electrician who came to repair it had made it worse. We had paid for room with breakfast but no offer of a partial refund. Overall our stay was great and staff helpful. Yes I would definitely stay her again."

The Angel Hotel

"I have stayed at the Angel previously but not for three or four years. The communal building is in need of lots of renovation. The chambermaids were efficient and friendly But the reception staff varied from friendly to disinterested. At breakfast there were not enough staff to replenish items. On one morning there were no plain tea bags and when I asked staff they could only locate de cafinated tea. We booked the restaurant for 8pm and when we arrived were told they close at 8pm. The greeter asked the chef and he agreed to cook for us. I grew up in Cardiff and really enjoyed my stay but I feel your hotel has some way to go to get even four stars."

"The front desk staff were amazing, so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our kids were happy to see a play area directly inside the lobby too. The room was nice, and it was useful to have a water dispenser on every level. Breakfast was good, selection could have been better but it was perfectly fine for a great start. The pool and spa facilities were a nice touch with both a proper steam room and sauna. I advise to go earlier as it can get busy with families in the pool. Gym is well kitted with a separate aerobic room too. Short walk to the St. John's Shopping Centre so no need to drive once you're there."

"Hotel although on the outside doesn't look very inspiring is near to Cardiff city centre and handy for shops and attractions. The room we had was spacious and suited our purpose. The hotel is in the middle of an upgrade and our room looked like it had recently been decorated and had new carpet. We were at a concert so didn't spend much time in the room. But the beds were comfortable. All the staff we had dealings with were very friendly and helpful. Meena on reception in particular was very helpful and patient when I couldn't get the room door open. The takeaway breakfast which was complementary was a nice touch."

"On arrival the reception staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Our room was clean with everything in there we could need including a mini fridge. Breakfast gave a huge selection of options and again, staff were lovely. We will definitely stay again if we are in Cardiff."
