Portland Harbor Hotel

8/10 Good
"A lovely historic hotel in the part of town with great restaurants and tourist attractions. Only valet parking is available, and to tip the valet you need to know their name as it is on line via a QR code! Beware technological luddites. As far as the hotel is concerned, we paid (modestly) extra for a "garden view" room. Both the first room they showed us and the one we stayed in, had one small window, oriented 45 degrees to the wall that looked out the window. So, yes, technically it was garden view if you walk up all the way to the window and look askance at the garden, but not sure I would advertise those rooms as garden view. just saying...."

"Decent location, price and stay. Across the street from the hospital on Congress Street - convenient dirivng to other areas of Portland. My bed was rock-hard firm which made for difficult sleeping. The staff were really helpful and tried hard to serve us. If you need a reasonably priced place to stay for a night in the city and aren't too fussy, this place works just fine. Its an older hotel with a little bit of character that is kind of a good reflection of Portland, as a whole."
