Top Hawaii Island Hotel Reviews
Hilton Grand Vacations Club Ocean Tower Waikoloa Village
8/10 Good
"Hate even to complain because one should be so lucky to stay at this resort and in a fully updated suite (2-bed, 2-bath, Full Kitchen and Living Room in Hawaii. One complaint would be the amount of walking since the boats aren’t in operation and only one tram operating that takes 45mins if you miss it as it pulls away. We like getting our steps in though but maybe not so much if my older parents were with us. Shopping onsite, restaurants were great (being from SoCal we are use to the high costs), and honestly so cool to have both King and Queens Marketplaces so close. A-Beach is also awesome, mellow, and great ocean front. I would never not rent a car. Book and Enjoy at your own risk :)"
Hilton Grand Vacations Club Kings’ Land Waikoloa
10/10 Excellent
"The King Premium room was spacious, clean and had a nice Tommy Bahama feel! Icing on the cake was the the champagne welcome to ring in our Wedding Anniversary. Much Mahalo Hilton!"
Kona Coast Resort
10/10 Excellent
"Clean room and full amenities"
Grand Naniloa Hotel Hilo - a Doubletree by Hilton
8/10 Good
"Hotel has a beautiful view. The rooms are nice. The bed was not hard, but not over soft either and the pillows were good too. The curtains let in a lot of light and are not room darking, but that just makes it easier to get up and enjoy the day and explore the island although it is tempting to spend the whole day at the hotel. The hotel trys to very upscale, but the hallways make it look like a 2 star hotel. Staff are very nice and friendly. The restaurant is very expensive and didn't eat there because of the prices. There is a resort fee that is not included in the price and you have to pay for parking. Lots of "stray" cats, but since I liked cats I enjoyed them. The cats seemed to be friendly and not overly scared of people, but were not a nuisance. Room had a slight ant problem. House keeping sprayed the ants, but that didn't seem to make a difference. I just kept food in the refrigerator or in a zip lock bag it iwas opened. I did see a sea turtle in the ocean that was in front of the hotel. The hotel also allows guest to borrow snorkels during their stay. I didn't get to use them, but I am thinking snorkeling by the hotel might be nice. It is with in ten minute drive to Walmart and fast food restaurants and walking distance to a nice garden."
SCP Hilo Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"First class service, vibe, and rustic amenities!"
Hilo Reeds Bay Hotel
8/10 Good
"Great location on the bay. Walking distance to restaurants, and Liliʻuokalani Park. Directly on Hilo Bay. They also have laundry facilities which is a plus. The building is old but clean and comfortable. There’s no wifi in the room and no air conditioning, but that’s okay with us as there’s ceiling fan and also big fans inside the room. The view from our room makes up from the lack if AC and Wifi."
Courtyard by Marriott King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Everything about the hotel was awesome"
OUTRIGGER Kona Resort & Spa
8/10 Good
"Facility is a bit outdated. Loved the power/heated toilet! Bathtub was significantly chipped and has seen better days. Room was good sized, bathroom was nice. In-room mini fridge and coffee service was a plus. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The 'adult' pool is in the middle of the buildings, which means it gets VERY limited sun. The 'everyone' pool is shallow--I don't think it got above 3.5 or 4 feet--and the water temp was in the 90s. The sandy zero-depth entry for the kids spread pebbles everywhere, not fund for us old folks who don't walk around outside that often with no shoes on, and especially not on rocks."
Royal Kona Resort
10/10 Excellent
"I was very pleased with this resort. My favorite part was the private lagoon area. I had a partial ocean view room that was lovely. Listening to the ocean waves as I fell asleep was memorable. My only peeve was: I walked to town specifically to grab a coffee then enjoy breakfast at the resort. The waitress told me I could not have an outside drink. She was quite rude. I ended up having breakfast elsewhere. Not a big deal but I think that was a bit excessive. Other than one rude staff member all the others were so kind and helpful. Danny (one of the pool attendant) was great. And recommended water shoes to avoid foot injuries in the lagoon. He was right!! (Thank you Danny) I would definitely stay here again!"
