「Lovely situation - large room that was clean. However walking in it felt quite down at heel, a bit like a scruffy airport waiting area. We ate in the restaurant on arrival - the food was edible. However, the staff at reception and in the restaurant were welcoming and attentive.」

「The Kiln Hotel in Wakefield has the look and feel of a run down American Motel that has been abandoned several decades ago. Desperately in need of refurbishment it appears that the new owners have not made any improvements since taking over from Campanile Hotels. The room I stayed in for 1 night looked as if it had not been decorated for 20 years and still had a lingering odour of Cigarette smoke. 「The hotel was only a short drive to the centre of Barnsley. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included and there was a good selection of items to choose from and the coffee was excellent. The staff at the hotel were all friendly and helpful.」

「First time at this place..stayed for three nights . Rooms wlare extremely clean and the staff are what makes this place..really friendly and professional. Breakfast is also excellent. Highly recommend as a short stop over」

「We only stayed one night here to break our journey south, but would be more than happy to stay here again. Lovely good sized room with air conditioning which was great as it was 35C. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We ate in the Jacobite restaurant which had a good selection of meals on offer. We had a lovely breakfast the next morning with plenty of choices available.」

「Exceeded expectations all round. Unusual for uk pub bedrooms.. air conditioning! lovely bedroom above the pub, well appointed, comfortable and quiet once closed. New Owners Becks and Tony super helpful and welcoming. Pub itself also great. Will definitely be back in the future」

「Bathroom had a good shower Worse thing about this hotel was the let down on the key card wouldn’t open door every time we went out If had been by myself I would have been very very worried we tried everything one lady from reception brought up a machine to try it BUT next morning back to square one. I was disappointed as it was for me to try this hotel for me to come by myself when I come back to Barnsley to visit my family」

「Disappointed with the room. It was small and the bathroom was difficult to manoeuvre for more than one person at a time. The room was dusty and could tell certain parts had not be cleaned in quite some time. Would not stay here again.」

「The hotel itself was ok, and reasonably clean, but there was someone banging about downstairs and banging doors from around 11pm until about 6am. We literally got no sleep, and I was doing the Leeds Marathon the next morning. Really did ruin it」
