Staff were fab, food good and very well priced. Room clean and comfy but oh boy the walls were so thin! We could hear the the sound of just about everything next door… including the quietest intake of breath!!

The staff were fantastic. So welcoming and kind, nothing was too much trouble. The decor is a little worn, but all tasteful and clean. The bed was comfy, the shower was great and the breakfast was freahly cooked and delicious.

Rooms are OK, dont expect high standard. Food is typical pub food but menu was large so plenty to choose from. Lots of parking and convenient to motorway.

Although the room was clean and well presented there are some areas that would benefit attention. The wood around the shower base and bathroom window was suffering with severe water damage and could do with being replaced. There was no ability to hang towels up anywhere the only possible place was the back of the bathroom door but the hook was missing. The room would benefit from a small draw unit there was only space to hang clothes. Unfortunately the iron lead was damaged and the Hairdryer and Fan had not been electrically tested. All that said the room served the purpose and I would book again for a short stay

Great stay!

Having family in the village ive known this place my whole life but never stayed but we will definitely be back. Super friendly staff, fabulous room, clean comfortable and elegant. Perfect for a night or two and overall good value.

Delightful and easy place to stay

The darrington is a lovely upbeat place to stay the decor is in line with the place and building itself just right. The pub within the building is great the staff are always helpful even when the bar is full and busy. A pleasant place to stay.

Fantastic staff gave a great welcome from reception to the bar team. Room was brilliant really spacious, clean and comfortable. Food was brilliant with friendly and attentive staff

Cheap and cheerful is the only way I can describe this. It was perfectly fine, nothing wrong just also not great. Staff were fantastic, but room is tired and bare bones, shower was weak and missing shampoo.

Was a lovely hotel with lovely staff in a nice location, I do like the kings inn hotels but admittedly the bathroom wasn’t very clean nor modern and it did smell a little, but it was still good for the price we paid to stay there. The bed was comfortable and we had a sleep without any disturbances. Also breakfast was nice, and the bar maids were very nice and it was very calm and chilled to sit and have a drink in the evening.

Great service, great staff. Decor a little tired.

The staff were excellent and the room was lovely and quiet. The beds were really comfy. I would only say that the shower cubicle was very cramped with a drench shower head which was unnerving for my elderly mum and the carpets and some fixtures were a little tired.

Rooms decorated nicely although a bit tired looking. Staff very friendly. Bathroom had not been cleaned properly, hair still in the shower and sink and an awful stain running down the side of the sink. Room was advertised as having a rainfall shower, I received a room with a tiny broken shower head that was leaking so badly there was no pressure, it was also far too low, I’m 6ft and I had to bend down to shower. You can also hear all the noise from the corridor as there are large gaps in the door.

Darrington visit

Quick trip to the area. Hotel was very handy for where i needed to be. Plenty of free parking.. check in lady was great. Room was fine. A bit chilly but the heating soon sorted that. Neighbours were a pain in the rear end. Noisy at 1am. Not the fault of the hotel of course. Had dinner on site. Reasonably priced and very nice. Breakfast was included and was great. Key drop check out. Will i use this one again. Definitely yes.

Would not return there

Friendly staff, however I feel sorry for them working in an establishment that as had no investment or upkeep for a long time. Our room was very tired, the bathroom was dusty, mold in the shower and the ceiling was in great need of attention, the corridor was smelly. Shame on a company like Greene King not to take more care of one of its establishment.

A cheap stay but not the best.

Hotel overall was pretty dirty. We ate in the bar which actually tasted quite nice but when we ordered a drink the glasses came with dirt and lipstick on them. When I returned them to the bar, the girl was actually unimpressed that I had returned it. Albeit she did say sorry. The room and corridor leading to it were also old and dirty looking. However, the bed sheets were very clean and the bed was comfortable. We paid less than £60 so it wasn’t over the top for the time of year. Not a great hotel given its condition though.

Staff were lovely, but you were given food with no cutlery or napkins. You were expected to get that for your self. Bathroom we had had no heating, black mould on ceiling. Bedroom freezing, the heater hadn’t been on in the room for a while so we felt when we put on heater the room never heated up Temperatures outside was 1degree. Bedside light not working
