「We were visiting for a gig at Piece Hall and are so glad we chose to stay at this absolutely wonderful hotel on the outskirts of Halifax. From the moment we arrived the staff were warm, polite and helpful and this continued for the duration of our stay. As it was such a nice day, we sat in the beautiful garden and enjoyed drinks and food from the bar menu before heading into town for our concert. . Breakfast (extra) was also very good indeed. 「Ashley is always super helpful…just as if he were your family member. This hotel building is charming but does not have a lift. However you don’t have to carry your bag. The staff carry it right away without demanding any tip. Sorry I am from a country of no tips so I totally forgot to leave tips. 「The best thing about the Mercure was the staff! Every single member was polite, courteous, friendly and helpful. The hotel has two wings and one side seems newly refurbished and the other seems rather tired and a bit jaded, but the standards were equally high in both. The food was very good, although the evening meal menu was limited choice the presentation and quality was good. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice in juices, cereals, hot cooked food, toast and croissants.」
