「Great location. Very small but nicely done. Very steep stairs. Missing basics such as bottle opener and coffee pot or maker. No electrics in front bedroom and unable to sort this during our stay. No info on heating. Excellent local cafe.」

「This is not a luxury house. Cheap second hand uncomfortable furniture, a smelly oven that may not have been cleaned for years (if ever???) and crockery that we needed to wash before we used it. We are not fussy people, but clean and comfortable should be a bare minimum.... Worst of all though was a chirping smoke alarm on the first floor landing, indicating a dead battery. On closer inspection, there wasn't even a battery fitted!! I offered to replace it if the owner couldn't arrange it for...

「A lovely, clean and modern house, with everything we needed for our short stay. A 7 minute cab ride to the centre of York. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen and bathroom were spotlessly clean.Just a heads up - the bathroom is downstairs, which we didn't notice on the listing, so our fault not the host's, but just to mention in case anyone is concerned about having to go downstairs in the night for the loo!Would happily stay again.」

「Recommend the bed needs a mattress protector for hygiene and to protect the mattress. The property is renovated to good modern standards for an old cottage. Shops bars restaurants taxi rank all close by. Home is clean. Host is good with communication. Definitely would stay again.」
