「Robert greeted us at the door and was friendly. The room we were shown to was perfect, bed was comfortable and amenities clean and tidy. The location of Kirkgate House was great, in the middle of the town with bars and restaurants within a couple minutes walk. Would recommend and if we visit Knaresborough again, definitely would stay.」

「The room was clean and the staff friendly. I probably would not come here again mainly because they do not serve breakfast. Their website states that breakfast is made to order and I recall seeing it on the expedia page but then was notified a day before about where to go for food instead. I asked on arrival and they have not served breakfast in 3 years. Inconvenient but not the end of the world. The shower had someone else's soap in it and the body wash was never renewed after use. 「The room was clean, however the bed was rock hard, the pillows were flat, the shower had low pressure and was very slow. However, the main issue during our stay were the functions held on both nights. We were in a room directly below the toilets of the function room. It was very noisy with the constant noise of the toilet flushing, loud noise from heels clonking on the wooden toilet floor and doors banging. Then at the end of the night people walking down the stair and singing/talking loudly...

Breakfast offerings from the buffet and menu were very good. However, the fish chips, and mushy peas I ordered one evening (£18.95 on the menu) were simply awful in every respect including quality and portion size.
