"I really wanted to love the hotel as much as I liked other Alila properties but it was a disaster. I understand that some people may have a good experience there but mine was a disaster. "This hotel is simply great. Rooms are super clean, modern and quiet. The breakfast buffet is extraordinary with many options to chose from. I had a room upgrade because of my status in Expedia and they gave me a room with a great view to the Bund a bottle of wine. Location is excellent mid Nanjing Road so you can take walks anytime you like, shopping and close to metro station East Nanjing Rd - so you can move anywhere with ease. This was previously the Sofitel Hotel but I think now its even better. Staff super friendly. I extended my stay in Shanghai in this specific hotel (had other options) for the reasons mentioned above. Will definitely come back!"
