「Lovely quiet location, superb room in the cottage opposite the main pub. Food was lovely and catered for my gluten free requirements. We only stayed one night but would love to go back with our dog and check out the local walks for a weekend.」

「I’ve never given a review like this before, but I think it’s only fair for future guests. When we checked in, the smell of dampness when opening the bedroom door was so strong, it was like a slap in the face. I then walked into the bathroom and the floor was so slippy and greasy that I went flying. Luckily I managed to grab on the sink, so as not to fall. 「This feels like a motel, with a mediocre pub attached, which was ok as I was just wanting a bed for the night. The room was spacious but wasn’t as clean as you’d expect, Doors were banging through the night didn’t help sleep! I ate at the pub. The food was poor value really, even though my expectations were not high. When the dish arrived half the advertised ingredients had been forgotten so had to ask the staff to try again.」

「I booked a standard ensuite double room but upgraded to the Tudor Suite. I chose this hotel because it is hundreds of years old, which is something we don’t get to experience much in the USA! The hotel obviously has all the charm of such an old place and would be awesome for a romantic getaway (although I was traveling alone on this trip!). There is lots of parking, which is free.
