"The property was in excellent condition and excellent location on the riverfront and easy walk to Michigan Ave shops and restaurants. The only downside is that this whole area is extremely loud well past 3am(loud motorcyclists, cars revving and loud music from passing cars). It was impossible to sleep much, even though the room was new, fresh, and clean. If you're used to city noise, you'll love it!"

"One of the best places we stayed. All the staff were very helpful. Rooms are spacious, great views. Nice beds. Bathroom is updated and very nice. Really like the window nooks. Perilla is the restaurant on sight. It was excellent. Really enjoyed having breakfast there. We would definitely stay here again. "

"This was my first stay at Freehand. I was in a shared quad dorm. Obviously you do your best to be a good dorm mate (ie be quiet when others a sleeping, dont take forever in the bathroom etc). I was surprised that the bar was so lively. They have a laundry room as well as a fitness room. Proximity was perfect. I decided not to pay $60 for an Uber to Midway and instead walked around the block to the Red Line and for $2.50 road the L. Staff was friendly and I'd definitely consider staying there again."
