「Our room could use some maintenance. Toilet didn't always flush. Continental breakfast was poor. Hard or old croissants and bagels, Very disorganized (plates in one place, tray in another, plastic knives and forks in another etc.) Outdoor stone bench too dirty to sit on.」

「The room was terrible. The sheets were ripped, the bathroom was dirty and the whole room just smelled.」

「The check in went smoothly but after that I got no special treatment as a guest in the restaurant and was treated like just another walk in from the street. Not having a shower was a little inconvenient and going to the bathroom in the middle of the night in my pajamas was a little uncomfortable but I knew it was a shared bath, so that’s on me. The front desk had no one staffed so it took awhile to find someone to check out. The look of the inn is nice though, and the warm scones in the...

「Very comfortable stay in sophisticated and clean room.」

「Neat and tidy rooms. The staff members were friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was perfect. Coffee, tea, juice. Bagels, muffins, cereal. The dining room was always busy. Clean bathrooms. Lots of towels. Sidewalks were great for a leisurely morning stroll.」

「Lovely staff and breakfast」

「Super clean room. Loved the historic area. Restaurant was amazing.」

「Okay, it's nice enough for hiking and it's clean with a good view. Unfortunately, there is no blow dryer and the communication with the staff is hit or miss. I asked for a 3rd for room with my reservation, but the hotel owners said second floor would be better. Well, you can hear everything from the people above (stomping around and yelling). The area was hit hard from Helene...a lot lf trails still closed and not much for restaurant options in downtown Spruce Pine as they're still recovering.」

「The price was right -- much cheaper than most hotels today. I stayed there because it was very close to relatives I was visiting unlike other hotels on Route 4. Made for easy visit with little driving on unfamiliar roads. I liked the early 20th century / late 19th century decor and look and feel. Game/community room was small but nice touch. Where could it be better? (1) Musty smell in hallway outside my room -- not sure why -- much of building was fine (2) Lack of washer/dryer/laundry...

「Old fashioned enjoyed it there」

「Cozy and clean.」
