"The stay at the cottage was good. It is positioned on a busy road but it quiets down later at night. There is a shop at the petrol station that has everything you will need for the stay and close to bus tops to take to Ambleside and Windermere.
The beds are on the soft side but not uncomfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped but he had to buy paper kitchen towels, bin bags and dishwasher tablets.
All in all, our stay was great. We would stay here again. "

"Lovely couple of nights at the Hideaway. Fantastic breakfast and great service. Owner very helpful with recommendations for a restaurant for our anniversary."

"Great location if you’re coming and going by train. Ask for a room “not” facing the street - mine did and even with ear plugs the traffic noise was quite loud. (Doesn’t help old school single pane windows which I suppose is common there.) Shower was also weak and stain on duvet cover was, even though small, gross.
That said, location, staff and breakfast (included) were great."

"Excellent stay at the Windermere suite. The room was spotless and really nice. Ray & Wong were excellent hosts and helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was excellent and delivered to your room and even accommodating for my wife who is gluten intolerant. Loads of parking on site and really close to the centre and Bowness."

Enjoyed a great 3 night stay at the Hideaway. This is a true Bed & Breakfast. Our bed was comfortable and our private bath had been nicely modernized with helpful shelves and racks. The breakfasts were prepared to order from a balanced menu. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Due to the rain we did not get to enjoy the outside sitting area but it looked inviting. The bedroom itself was a bit tight, but we had small roller bags so we were able to situate everything - would have been...

We enjoyed our stay at Cedar Manor. The hosts were great and offered advice on dining in the local area and walking directions to the town. We spent most of our time traveling the area and did not eat in the restaurant. The room was a little on the small side and the hot weather required a fan in the room which did not add to the comfort. Otherwise all good and worth a visit

After a busy week exploring Scotland, my boyfriend and I decided to make a stop for a couple of day in the quiet town of Windermere to get some rest and relaxation before continuing onto our busy adventures down in London. Jericho was just what we needed. The entire place was beautifully decorated and very very well kept. Our room was so cozy (but spacious) and luxurious--I probably could have just moved in. Really lovely B & B just a few minutes walk into the centre which had plenty of independent shops, cafes and restaurants
It’s also near the Orrest Head walk with spectacular views.
We ate at Tapios one night for delicious tapas and highly recommended them.
Our second night we ate at The Pig ( name changed to Tilly’s ) and had their Cajun chicken burger… yummy!
We opted for a full English breakfast which was not the biggest one I’ve had but cooked fresh and nicely presented and the option of...

Victor and Johanna were so friendly and warm, we felt valued. The breakfasts were delicious! The hotel was clean, comfortable and we appreciated the easy parking. Being so close to restaurants and the town center made walking about so easy. We highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

The LInthwaite House Hotel is absolutely marvelous--in every way. The location overlooking Lake Windermere is perfect--amazing views, feels like a million miles from the tourist chaos below, yet extremely handy to everything is one wanted to pop to a local pub or explore. The manor house is absolutely beautiful, in superb condition, with many inviting public spaces--not the least being a marvelous atrium room overlooking the panorama below. Because the weather was nippy we weren't able to eat...
