Top Timber Lake Trailhead Hotel Reviews

Big Horn Lodge

Big Horn Lodge

8/10 Good
"The staff was great. They fixed our tv, and showed us how to connect to the WiFi. The hotel was convenient to downtown Grand Lake. We were able to leave the car at the hotel and walk to nearby restaurants, shops, and the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre. The hotel was convenient to the west entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park and Trail Ridge Road. We had a wonderful time during our 4 day stay at Big Horn Lodge in Grand Lake, CO."

"Very nice, BEAUTIFUL property. Nice creek flowing right outside our patio. Turkey walking everywhere. Gorgeous seating areas along the creek with light show. Staff was rude Told us our room was not ready and would text us when ready. I waited a while and realized I had no phone signal, I told the lady I am setting outside and had no signal. I was told "You can I come back at 4 when it is ready" It was 3:40 pm. Later my wife went in to get the Wifi password. Then we realized the text to notify us our room was ready was sent at 345 pm. That lady had went back and forth pass us seeing us outside waiting but did not inform us herself. She made us use their "text" system even after we told her we had no signal. If my wife didn't ask for the .WiFi password we probably would still be setting outside waiting for our room to be ready. We had room 4. Our beds were on the wall attached to the stairs for the upstairs customers to use. When someone went up and down in the middle of the night it shook our bed. Its a very old building up front try to get one of the newer ones. Again very Beautiful property and good location."

Renovated 1940's Cabin Located in a Peaceful Grand Lake Village Location

10/10 Excellent
"We had a wonderful time is this cute rustic cabin. We enjoyed the cozy fireplace inside and the rustic cabin itself. It was relaxing to read, relax and enjoy the mountains and be unplugged from everything! The outside table, chairs were a lovely place to sit and enjoy lunch and the evening sunsets. The cabin is very close to walk right down to Main Street. We enjoyed walking to dinner every evening. Our dog loved being able to come along for our stay and settled in for our 5 day stay beautifully! There was plenty of room in the cabin to set up the kennel for her ! It was a great getaway to enjoy the mountains & lake with the cooler temperatures. The leaves were starting to change and it was fun spotting the trees as they change colors. Cabin is located very close to RMNP, Grandy, and WinterPark. But Grand Lake never disappoints and we enjoyed the restaurants, lovely locals, and shopping in the local businesses. Fave spots were Durban Indian restaurant and Bob Scott’s Native American Shop. We will be back soon! Thank you!"

The Gateway Inn

The Gateway Inn

"First of all, the views from the balcony of the penthouse were spectacular! Truly breathtaking. But the room itself had some serious design issues. First of all, the elevator did not work the entire duration of our stay. The last step to the penthouse is hard to see and if you miss one, you could fall down half a flight of stairs. While there is plenty of seating for dining in the penthouse (maybe 12 chairs at 2 tables), the bed situation and the bathroom situation need improvement. There is only one bathroom with a door. The other bathroom opens up to the bedroom. This is really inconvenient. Why not put a door on the bathroom?? Also, I didn't look closely at the bed situation because the listing said 6 beds and we were 4 adults, so I didn't think there would be a problem. But there are only 2 real beds. The others include 2 cots in a lofted space with a seriously vaulted ceiling (good for maybe under 10 year olds), one sofa bed in the main living area and one Murphy bed (also in the main living area) -- so only 2 useable beds, to be honest. The entire space needs a deep cleaning. I know this is cabincore, but the vents in the bathroom were frankly disgusting. All this being said, we did enjoy staying with you, but I feel like for the price, this didn't live up to my expectations."
