Clean room with excellent amenities and a good variety offered at breakfast. Our hosts were very helpful in every way possible. This is an English B&B, so don't expect modern / European hotel styles. With that caveat, overall excellent and a pleasantly comfortable bed. The only bit of warning is that while there is a large public parking area 1.5 blocks away with a very good price for an entire week, finding a place can be a challenge. We were there outside of high season and still struggled in...

The hotel is located outside the city of Bath. It's about a 30 minute walk to the city centre, so we took a local bus. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel which is very convenient. Gems assisted us at check-in and printed out the bus schedule for us!! She was very pleasant as well as all the other staff. We were having dinner at the hotel, and she walked us to the dining room. I wish we had booked more than one night! The staff were all very nice, friendly and super accommodating. The room was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The views can't be beat, especially from the roof bar. The food was also very good. The only piece of advice I have is if you are using GPS set your destination to the train station. If you you try to use the hotel name or address it will lead you down some very tiny, twisty streets.

What a fantastic hotel. I have walked past this hotel on holidays to Cornwall most of my life but this was the first time I actually stayed in a hotel in the local area. I am pleased I picked the Carlyon Bay Hotel. Not only does the hotel seem to beam old world charm, it is the epitome of a classy environment with staff that will do anything to make your stay more comfortable and are a pleasure to deal with. The local area is quiet but you are not coming to this hotel to party but relax...

It was a wonderful, yet too brief, one night stay. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Our meal in the informal dining/pub options was nourishing and delicious. The room was clean, large, and bright. We were able to get a room facing back garden and with views. A big pot of tea and a freshly pressed coffee were very nice at breakfast. Local walks on the moor, and to the quarry & rocks and were fab.
