Mount Saint Vincent University Residence - Hostel

Mount Saint Vincent University Residence - Hostel

10/10 Excellent
"It’s a hostel- with the benefit of being a university’s dorm rooms being rented out. You get the great pricing of a traditional hostel, but the added plus of your own private room. Of course, it being Canada and A/C not being as universal as it is in the US- it can be hard for my fellow Americans to get use to the hot rooms during the summer. Thankfully they do provide fans. And if available, they may even be able to get another from housekeeping. The windows are able to be opened and have retractable shades. Everything was clean, but of course, with it being a hostel/dorm living, I’d recommend a pair of flip flops for use in the bathroom and shower. There were that many people in my experience, and during my 5 or so days, I only had to wait to use the shared bathroom in my hall once. Depending on the room, you may even have a decent view. Great friendly staff, always ready to help and provide local advice. Parking is limited. While a bit away from the city center and waterfront, there’s good bus connections down the street, and it’s quick via car/uber. As it is a little bit out there, there’s isn’t really any shopping, there seems to be a few restaurants down the way, and thankfully a Tim Hortons practically next door to the Uni. So it’s easy to walk a little to get coffee and a quick bite."

"The motel was not too far from downtown. There is a restaurant attached to the motel which is nice although we did not use as we were at the waterfront most of day. There is a Tim Hortons within walking distance. Motel is in more of residential area. Bathroom needs updating but beds were comfortable and sheets were clean. Front desk girl was nice and helpful."
