"If you want to maintain a 4 star hotel status you need to check all plumbing including drains and electrical units to keep them up to pare on a monthly basis. I shouldn't have to notify cyustomer service every time the bathroom drain is plugged or a light switch isn't functional. The room while vacuumed and the beds made should includes a little more dusting as well. Look you've got a exceptional hotel and I like to see it kept that way. To myself it appears that since opening the little things I've mentioned are slipping in terms of the overall ambience of a stately hotel. However love your hotel and it's location. It wouldn't take much to incorporate the fixs to these relatively small issues."

"Construction going on. Overcharged at Check in. Acted like it was our fault. Room service took forever and cold food. No wash cloths in room till we addressed the problem. Ac was acting up, it was like we had no control in the room. We reported the trouble about 02 hours later the AC went off and then the next day the maintenance man showed up knocking on our door.. coffee was burnt tasting, guess due to the English drink tea??? Horrible coffee. Room very dated. Clean and great hot water pressure. Location was ok.. will I use again.. no. View was stunning over looking the river and the Tower Bridge. Food at breakfast was ok. "

"The bed was absolutely horrible. The mattress should have been changed some time ago. There was a big sag in the mattress. I expected a lot more from the hotel given the high cost of the room. One of the employees acted as if we were trespassing and followed us around...not sure why. The woman who checked us in at the front reception was excellent - which is why the hotel rating is not lower."

"Perfectly convenient location in the heart of Piccadilly Circus. If you read up on the hotel, you will not be surprised by the smaller rooms and little amenities. There is so much to do and so close to the Underground train system. The Zedwell is the best value for the area. Highly recommended."

"Someone came into my bedroom in the middle of the night. They knocked twice and immediately entered at around 6am. Then again at 10am someone knocked twice, didn't wait and then entered my room as I was getting changed. I sat up for hours terrified and i'd recently been reading about the woman who was sexually assaulted by a hotel staff member at a TravelLodge and it was just so scary. I was sitting there at 6.30am thinking about my arrival to the hotel and how the receptionist had announced my room number loudly. I remember thinking it was odd and I was super paranoid. The next morning I spoke to reception who didn't seem too phased. I wrote a complaint and RIU have replied with a half apology and offered me 500 RIU points. They also said they checked CCTV and my account was accurate but then didn't explain why their staff were trying to enter my room in the early hours of the morning. I paid over £150 for a room, I slept a few hours and I was scared for my safety. Thanks RIU."
