The Sutton Place Hotel Halifax

10/10 Excellent

"We had an excellent stay at Sutton Place Halifax and would definitely stay here again. The room was spacious, beautifully appointed, exceptionally clean, and our room on the 17th floor offered a spectacular view of the Halifax waterfront. Waking up to that view was one of the highlights of our trip. The location is outstanding. Being right in the heart of downtown meant we could easily walk to the waterfront, restaurants, shops, and many of Halifax's attractions. The staff were fantastic throughout our stay. They were welcoming, professional, and incredibly accommodating. We were especially grateful that they allowed us to check in about four hours early, as we were between accommodations with our luggage. That small gesture made a huge difference and really set the tone for a wonderful stay. We didn't have a chance to use the hot tub or visit the bar, so we can't comment on those amenities. The only thing future guests should be aware of is that, because the hotel is located in the heart of downtown, you may hear some street noise on weekend evenings. It wasn't bothersome to us at all and is simply part of staying in such a convenient, vibrant location. Overall, this is a beautiful hotel with exceptional service, an unbeatable location, and amazing waterfront views. We highly recommend it and would happily stay here again. "

The Barrington Hotel

"We were expecting a lot less in terms of a quality suite as told to us by a friend. That was not the case we found the room a bit small, but in terms of cleanliness it was superb. A couple of items should be addressed though. There should be grab bars in the tub/shower unit along with a rubber mat to prevent falls. The towels were a bit on the thin and small side and the fact that there really isn't any towel racks there's no place to hang your towels as in our case we stayed a couple of days and there's no service for the room in which case using the same towels was a negative. We could have called housekeeping and asked for more, but if there was towel racks the towels would have dried out sufficiently for addition use. On the positive I required an extension cord to operate my CPAP and that was provided very promptly. Great location to everything Halifax has to offer."

Prince George Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"I really enjoyed our stay at the Prince George. The location was ideal as we were attending the Royal Halifax Military Tattoo which is right across the street at the Scotia Bank Centre. We passed the time before the show by touring the Citadel National Historic site. The room was clean and spacious as very well maintained. The entire hotel was very well maintained. The staff were very helpful answering the many questions I had about the local area and the features of the hotel. The breakfast buffet on Sunday was a fair price at $23 and this included eggs Benny and scrambled eggs as well as both sausage and large pieces of bacon. Our only complaint was at the restaurant as the server never made it to our table until after we had already served ourselves and eaten our breakfast. I left a tip that reflected the lack of service as I don’t to for serving myself with no communication from our server. The hostess did arrange for our coffee and juice to be served as beverages as not self service. It was nice that the beverages were included in the price of the buffet as I have dined in to many locations that add this cost on top of the buffet price."
