"This place is so close to being great! First of all the good. The location is fantastic. It is right on the river and surrounded by a couple of streams as well. Made for a great place to stroll or to sit and read a book in the afternoon. There is also lots of great hiking within 30 minutes. Sliding Rock is about 35 minutes from this house. Kitchen is well stocked, TVs and internet were great, and beds were comfortable. Firepit with lots of firewood on the property. Close to Waynesville, which had lots of good places to eat. House is quite spacious as well. Three bedrooms on upper floor and basically two large living areas. The bad - as the other reviewers said, the water smells like metal. REALLY smells like metal. The house provided plenty of bottled drinking water, but it was bad enough that nobody wanted to take a shower by the end of our three night stay there. I did not read the reviews enough to catch this detail before we left. Lots of cobwebs and dust - but chalked this up to it being so deep in the woods. Washer was out of order when we were there also, which was quite annoying as we had planned to have that ability when we packed for the trip. Overall a great place with tons of potential if you can get over the smell of metal in the water."

"The room was large, clean and tidy and didn't smell of smoke (unlike a previous nonsmoking room at a different hotel chain!). There was a fridge, microwave, Keurig coffee maker and TV (with movie channels). Take your own plates/cups/cutlery if using microwave. We couldn't hear anything from adjacent rooms and it was nice and quiet apart from a noisy fridge. Staff were friendly and helpful and there was plentiful parking. We parked at the back so we could access the car via the fire exit easily. The breakfast was delicious and all you can eat buffet style. We enjoyed the egg omelettes, sausages and making our own fresh waffles. There was also coffee, juice, cereal, toast, bagels, muffins and apple pastries. My partner particularly enjoyed the hot chocolate as he doesn't like coffee. This and coffee was available 24/7. There was also a fitness room and seasonal pool which looked nice. We went to the waffle house next door for dinner as within easy walking distance. Brevard is a 5ish minute drive away."

"What a wonderful trip we had at Maggie’s Farm! The home was exceptionally clean, well stocked and was perfectly spacious for our family of 6. The creek, firepit and trout pond entertained my family for hours. My kids adored feeding the cows across the street, even in the pouring rain! The home is conveniently located to lots of hiking, waterfalls and downtown Brevard. Mark and Jacquie were so accommodating and kind, and made sure we had a comfortable stay despite a tropical storm that rolled through. We would absolutely stay here again!"
