Very quiet country setting. Staff hardworking and accommodating. Limited amenities. Limited staff. More isolated. Poor access to attractions, shops, restaurants. No working in-room phone. Spotty WiFi. Water not working.

This hotel would be more like what you consider a lodge. 16 rooms, all very different and charming. What makes this hotel spectacular however it is the staff that work there. They’re all very close and friendly beyond words. The staff is also extremely accommodating. We moved over to meet friends in a five star, contemporary, western, high class hotel after 4 days. The upscale hotel mind you, is four times the cost. Although the five Star hotel is magnificent it was definitely not a better experience than the Mane. I have traveled to over 50 countries and can only tell you that our stay at the Mane was absolutely top-notch.

Our "guide" was terrible. We went on our own so had a small, old boat and were charged $35 each. Should have booked with agency.

If the remork or tuk tuk driver asks if you want to go on the floating village tour, don't. You will be overcharged. Pre-book the trip with your hotel or someone like Tripadvisor.

Let the hotel help with arrang your trip. I went on my own and grab charged 8hrs, although it was only really 4.5hrs $64 plus at the furthest away floating village, Kamphung Kleang 50 lm aeay from Siem Reap, the village charges 2×$25=$50 for a boat that goes through the village then stops 20 minutes in the lake with a "captain" that speaks zero, absolutely zero English? Very disappointing and a money grab at every instance.

If you're in a relationship with a passionate horse rider, you bound to sit on one of these yourself LOL. Thanks to Happy Ranch in Siem Reap for taking us out! I truly enjoyed riding through the Cambodian countryside and even managed to do something called a 'canter'. I had no idea that there is a difference between 'gallop' and 'canter'. Whatever it was, it was fast and I loved it!

I find as someone who has no riding experience (apart from a short phase as a kid), it's really really hard to get those legs positioned right - i'm also not the most flexible (hence doing yoga as much as I can to work on those tight hamstrings) so keeping my heal down is very difficult. And when Storm went for it, i probably looked like a bag of potatoes being shaken around. I really have no idea how they do it...to stay upright and fixed. Pro riders like Ben just look so elegant. I'd love to be able to do that.

I hope to take some proper riding classes one day. I love horses
