"Fantastic location"

"The property was charming, the rich colours flowed throughout. Beautifully designed. Breakfast was very good and the views out of the windows from the restaurant to the highland cows and Colin the peacock. Bed/bedding not the most comfortable although spend of looking. Very quirky."

"The first day we arrived our room was mixed up. I’d reserved and paid for an upgraded room with a sofa bed. The front desk said they fully booked and it wouldn’t be available. Needless to say I was not pleased and asked them to make it right the next day. Much to our surprise they provided us with a better room and made the situation better for our Stay. The staff in the breakfast room was excellent and always provided us with a Capuchino or latte, very nice hardworking people."

"Fantastic stay at Code, Staff extremely friendly and accommodating. Stayed in the deluxe double which was great and daily events list which was unexpected. Food great, cannot find fault in anything. Will definitely stay at code again next time in Edinburgh"

"Lovely friendly staff. Nice spacious room but it was in need of some tlc. Some horrible stains on the carpet & curtains and a very peeling faux leather chair. Quite dusty in the higher areas. Only 1 lift working for 10 floors so make sure you're not in a rush! Fantastic location and not too noisy considering how central you are. The bar was lovely and all the staff we came across were very helpful and friendly. "

"The IKEA furnished hotel. All modular and undersized and “efficient “, very little shelf areas, no place to set things, the bathroom is undersized and does not fit a 6 foot tall person. Staff was friendly, breakfast great. Good location."

"It was a good place to stay for a weekend. It is as advertised and worked well for a couple of days. My concern is security the front desk staff is young. I forgot my room number they told me I asked for another key they gave it to me.. all with out any form of ID. Finally I left my key in the room with my adult son and they scanned me up the elevator with out any ID. These were all different times of the day. Yes I was a bit scattered but it really bothered me that no one asked me for ID and it wasn’t the same person who I spoke to each time. Would I stay again probably not because I felt unsafe with the kids manning the desk."

"The scholar is a nice hotel in a lovely setting surrounded by trees. I had a small single room but it worked for me for the price. Quite easy to get into Edinburgh cental from the bus stoop across the street, too."

"The room was clean, and the bed was reasonably comfortable. They use a memory foam-style mattress topper, so as a side sleeper who moves around a lot, it took a while for it to adjust and reshape. Aside from that, the bed was firm but acceptable. The room itself was clean, but the view between the hotel rooms really needs attention—especially since there are two windows facing it. Unfortunately, it looked more like a back alley filled with garbage than a pleasant view."
