With new rules, restrictions and safety measures in place, travel looks a little different in this day and age. These are some handy things to know before you jet off to Causeway Islands:

• Before booking anything, find out if any travel restrictions apply — in both your destination and origin. Stay informed with the latest updates by reviewing government travel advisories.
• Wear a face mask even during airport screening. A TSA employee will ask you to temporarily lower your mask to verify your identity.
• Do not hand your boarding pass (paper or electronic) directly to a TSA officer. Rather, you should position the pass on the reader and then hold it up so the agent can inspect it.
• You can take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on baggage. This will need to be removed for X-ray scanning.
• Put any personal items (phone, wallet and keys) in your carry-on rather than a bin to minimize handling during the screening process.
• Separate any food you have for X-ray screening. Putting it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA employee to handle and inspect your belongings.
