We stayed at so many different places that I guess I just didn't check to see. But, we were a bit taken aback when after eating breakfast we were asked to settle the bill for it.」

Bathroom was private for our room, though not connected to the room itself. The bathroom was very nice. Our room also had a sink in the bedroom itself.
Bed was a bit soft - the mattress was not the most comfortable, but overall, no issue.

「Old school stately charm, the staff make an effort to provide a luxurious experience in this historically grand hotel. Great to have a bathtub, bathrooms have been renovated. Treats and coffee/tea provided in the room. Friendly and cozy pub for visitors and locals with full menu available. Grand, formal dining room and halls for guests. Typical Scottish decor, plaid carpets with random sections of scenic wallpaper amid beautiful old woodworking.

「No frills lodging. It's an older building, and it is showing it's age, but it's sufficient for a night or two. Big tub in the bathroom. Rooms are warm (It's Oct and cold!). Good accommodations for the price. Make sure you check your email ahead of time for the key box code, or you will have to call from the unstaffed reception. Free coffee and snacks at breakfast. 」
