"The location of the hotel is its biggest selling point. We were just steps from the Animas River and the adjacent bike and walking path. Main Street is just a five minute walk away. The lobby and dining room have a kind of grand charm. I don’t know when the hotel was built, but it has a historic feel to it. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed, but was a little dated in terms of furnishings. The staff was excellent. We ate breakfast each morning in the restaurant and enjoyed the food, service, and river view. We have stayed here before and will again."

"I was placed here by the travel agency after my hotel room was unexpectedly canceled while I was on my way up there. The host was very accommodating with a pack and play and sheet and blanket for my infant, and the suite was adorable with a small dining set up and separate seating area with the tv. The suite has a kitchenette with a full fridge, a cookware set and cooking utensils and plateware and cutlery! The rooms are not soundproof but they provided ear plugs with a cute little note :) It was very interesting waking up to horses outside of the front door as they were getting ready for an event in town. It sounded like the horses were in the house when they were whinying."

"We stayed one night on a Friday and checking in was a little hectic! No registration desk. We wondered around and another guest told us you check in at the bar. The bar was crowded due to a wedding party! We waited several minutes with all our bags and had to stand in line where people were ordering drinks to register and get our room information! Hotel was very nice and quaint but was crowded and noisy from the wedding party. I’m sure on any other day we would have had a different experience. Beds were comfortable and room was great. They probably need to rethink check in process."
