The Wayward Sailor's Boathouse - Minutes to Cedar Point

Wayward Sailor's Boathouse (w/boat well that accommodates a 35' boat) overlooks Venetian Marina, minutes from Cedar Point Amusement Park. Boathouses are unique to Sandusky, as they hover over the waters of Lake Erie. THE BOAT PICTURED IN THE BOAT WELL PICTURES IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RENTAL. Guests will be sleeping ON the Lake! Features 3 bedrooms (2 overlook the Marina), deck in boat garage to sit out over lake & fish, outdoor spaces for BBQing and lounging, and easy access to Cedar Point, Sportsforce, ferries, watersports, downtown, stores & restaurants. Your family will never forget this place! This updated space has been recently remodeled. Sonos surround sound bluetooth system is perfect for filling the summer nights with music & outdoor spaces beckon guests to sit back, relax, and enjoy the Lake Erie sunshine. The large kitchen helps guests prepare meals to cut down on vacation costs. Two Smart TVs feature cable, & Wifi is on property. Laundry machines on site. Weber propane grill is in one outdoor space, along with a picnic table, comfy outdoor couch & chairs, & a porch swing is out back on the deck where guests can fish. The ambiance of the fun, energetic waterfront community is unmatched in the area. Neighbors are friendly, fun people, & the aura of the area is positive & spirited.

Please.... DO NOT BOOK UNTIL YOU READ THE FOLLOWING:
***Dogs are $35 per night, per dog; dog fees will be collected upon booking.***
***Guests who bring boats will pay a $65 docking fee per night***
1. THERE IS NO SWIMMING IN THE WATER AROUND THE HOUSE - this area is full of docks where people keep their boats and use electricity so it is not safe to swim.
2. There is no trespassing on, in, around, in front of any other boathouse or boat well on Catalina Drive, ESPECIALLY the private, gated home at the north end of the street. This is NOT a community space. Guests who trespass on any other property on this street will be removed from the boathouse with NO REFUNDS.
3. There is no boat launch in our community. There's a public ramp to launch boats. Guests cannot leave their trailer at the boathouse, as there is no room. We recommend the City of Sandusky Boat Ramp located at 1099 W Water St #1001, Sandusky, OH 44870. Owner is not responsible for any losses incurred as a result of guests using any launch ramp nor any trailer storage losses.
4. Guests who are coming for Cedar Point: please note that Owner is not responsible for any Cedar Point-related issues. We do not guarantee that Cedar Point will be open or whether you'll be able to get in. There will be no refunds for any Cedar Point-related problems.
5. NO SMOKING IN THE BOATHOUSE, IN FRONT OF THE BOATHOUSE, OR IN THE BOAT WELL! SMOKING WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE REMOVAL FROM THE PROPERTY.
6. Although there is a propane tank on the BBQ grill, if it becomes empty during a stay, or if it's empty upon arrival, it is the guest's responsibility to exchange the tank.

Great stay in Sandusky

We had a fantastic stay at the Wayward Sailor. The house is a great location to Cedar Point (about 4 mins) and very comfortable and quiet. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect getaway!

Perfect spot to relax after a long day at Cedar Point. The house was spotless, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and we loved being right there by the water. The host was the best we've ever had--she even shipped a few items back to me after my forgetful son left them behind! Can't wait to stay again on our next trip to Cedar Point!

Wonderful little boat house.

We stayed the weekend while visiting Cedar Point. Very cute place and It was very close to everything we checked out. I would recommend it to anyone. We had a great stay!

Great property on the lake!

Our family recently stayed at this incredible property, and it was an absolute hit! We fell in love with the beautiful location, cozy charm, and modern amenities. The spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and well-equipped kitchen were perfect for our needs. The patio and stunning views were a highlight, and the owner's hospitality was exceptional. We had an amazing time and can't wait to return for another memorable stay. Highly recommended for a fantastic family retreat!

So Close to Cedar Point

The property was very clean, has plenty of items to use in the kitchen, and has a great back patio. This is a great rental for any CP fans who need room but do not want to pay Breakers prices.

Family Fun Time

We loved everything about our stay! Accommodations were neat and clean and had everything we needed to make our own meals, shower, sleep and hang out as a family (I’m looking at you board games!) There’s an Aldi and Walmart nearby, which we stopped at to get food and fishing supplies- because fishing in the boatwell was one of our favorite things to do! That is, when we weren’t at Cedar Point which was a quick 5 minutes down the road! This was super helpful for us to get back and forth to our pup, who was able to come with us because Wayward Sailor is dog friendly lodging. Thanks, Jennifer! We will definitely be back!

Oh we’ll be back for sure

Honestly, one of the best get-aways we’ve had in a long time. We had our two dogs with us and stayed for a week for fishing. SUPER close to Cedar Point, restaurants and some awesome little ports (which come in handy for going to other locals -Put in Bay, etc.). Host was incredible. Very responsive and helpful wherever we needed anything (and super cool). House is clean and large enough for large parties. The boat garage was so so handy. Not having to load it in and out of the water is a game-changer. We’ll be back as soon as our calendars open up this summer.

Great Stay at Wayward Sailor

This is a great property to stay at if you are visiting Sandusky and especially if you are visiting Cedar Point. The location could not be better, you can get to all the local attractions with ease. Cedar Point is just around the corner and wether you are going there by car or boat it only takes a matter of minutes. The property is well kept and one of the cleanest properties I have stayed at, you can tell they take pride in what they do. I have a daughter that is a neat freak and she loves to pick things apart, she even commented on how clean the property was. Communication with the property manager was fantastic, we communicated prior to the stay so they could make sure we had everything we needed. Prior to check in we communicated on the check in procedure and the parking situation. I had several guests in and out and each of my 3 daughters had friends stay with us on alternating days, management made sure we understood how to make things work so that everyone was happy. For me the number one immunity was the boat well, I loved having my boat in the same house as me and protected. The boat well was easy to access and had everything we needed to make the stay a success. The channel in and out of the property is very large and easy to maneuver. When you leave the channel and into the bay Cedar Point is right there. We took the boat to the Cedar Point marina several times and never had an issue docking and accessing the park. Overall we loved our stay at The Wayward Sailor Boathouse and would recommend this to anyone staying in the Sandusky Bay area.

Excellent trip, boat house was even better in person!

Absolute great experience pulling your boat in its own garage. Access to Kelly’s island and Put-In-Bay in less than an hour. Nothing like sitting in the boat house relaxing before we went out on the water. Jennifer was very helpful with getting us accommodated. Great time highly recommended!!
