"The hotel was exceptional , the rooms were amazing and the food was 5star . The only issue we have is the manner that the head or I presume the head of service in the breakfast restaurant spoke to her staff . She in our view needs to put on a course for man management. I have to say if we had been spoken too the way she addressed her staff we would have walked out . She was the only let down in the whole of the hotel . "

Full of history, charm and character in the charming Grade 1 listed building! 3rd time I’ve been and will happily becoming again when In Shrewsbury. Close to town, pubs, the river, shops and the city centre. Even Charles Dickens stayed her many MANY years ago!"

"The room wa clean and comfortable. The staff are brilliant. There were a couple of 'issues' when we arrived. TWe couldn't get the bedside lights to work and the radiator was very noisy and not heating. We mentioned this to the staff and both issues were sorted straight away (the fuse switch on the wall had been turned off, hence the lights not working and th radiator had an airlock and needed to be bled).There is some noise from the bar below but this ends when the bar closes at 10.30 and then all is quiet. The food in the bar is delicious and you get a discount on food and drink if you are staying upstairs!"
