Find appeal for all family members from dawn into late evening. Participate in the many exciting activities in this water wonderland.

From fishing to being entertained and watching sunsets, a visit to Pier 60 Park in Clearwater Beach is a great way to enjoy Florida’s famous attractions: shoreline, ocean, and activities. The focus of the park is a 1,080-foot-long (329-meter) fishing pier that juts out into the Gulf of Mexico. From sunrise to late evening, cast your line from the pier with many others and take advantage of strong lights on the structure that attract fish after the sun goes down.

Buy your bait and pay a fishing fee at the pier. Then find shelter from the sun under one of the covered pavilions. As well as the wide selection of bait available at the bait house, look over the fishing tackle, rental equipment and souvenirs. Treat yourself to a drink or a snack.

Once you’re all set up on the pier, settle back to catch mackerel, flounder, snook, tarpon and many other species.

If you prefer to watch the anglers, relax on the beach that offers one of the largest children’s playgrounds on the Gulf Coast. The presence of lifeguards helps make a family outing here safe and enjoyable.

Stay for the 4-hour Sunsets at Pier 60 celebration that maintains interest with live entertainment, craft vendors and food trucks.

On Fridays and Saturdays during the summer, bring a blanket or beach chair and watch a free movie at the Sunset Cinema after the sun goes down.

Fishing licenses are not required if you fish from the pier, but even if you don’t choose this activity walk to the end of the structure for spectacular views.

The pier is accessible and parking can be difficult, particularly around the time of the sunset celebration, so come as early as possible.

Find additional parking north and south of the roundabout and on the street in Clearwater Beach. Some of the resorts in the area offer public parking.

Pier 60 Park is open 24 hours a day year round. This gorgeous spot offers practically everything you’d want during a Florida vacation: sun, sand, fishing, entertainment and much more.
