「Room was pretty gross. At first I thought it was just run down and could use a new coat of paint but on closer inspection there was dirt/debris on the floors, hair in the shower and bathroom floor, toilet wasn’t clean, sink wasn’t clean, old potato chips on the floor and on the shelf above the fridge, holes in the walls like fists, smeared Oily stuff on the tv screen, stains on the walls and floors. I didn’t want to take my shoes off because the floors looked so disgusting, the room smelled like...

「There were bloodstains on my sheets and pillow case. Obviously, the sheet and pillowcase and not been changed by the hotel staff.I complained to staff and was told the manger would contact me. It has been a week and nobody has contacted me.」

Mouldy drapes, a number of amenities were broken (electric fireplace, mouldy fridge), no wifi, questionably clean bedsheets. And (I have photos as proof) a white substance residue left on the counter next to the bed. I will say that the indoor jet tub was amazing! 「The Cottage and Castle is absolutely charming, beautifully decorated and situated in a lovely neighborhood of colourfully painted houses and As well it is anIt’s a real gem. However as we returned after an evening out the stench in the air from a soil, composting, wastewater and recycling treatment plant was overwhelming. I there is a solution to this as Chemainus is a charming town and the Cottage and Castle was exceptional! 」
